Is That an Onion in Your Pocket?
Yesterday I was working on my computer and Mr Chiots came over to look at something and said, “Do you smell something?”.
I said, “Not really”. But a little later I started noticing an “oniony” smell and was wondering where it was coming from. Then I remembered I had an onion in my pocket.
Earlier that day, I was out working in the garden and I found a small onion while cleaning out one of the vegetables beds. I put it in my pocket and kept working and completely forgot it was there until it revealed itself. I’ve done this before, on occasion I’ll put on a pair of jeans or a sweatshirt, stick my hand in the pocket and find some seeds or some wilted herbs.
Have you ever found anything interesting in your pocket?

Hahaha that’s really funny! But a good find! :D
Yeah I’ve found bags of seeds and such in my pockets…but more extreme than that is the pile of nigella seeds in one of my car’s cupholders. They’ve been there for I think 2 years now!

Nothing that interesting really. Although in my camera back last night I found several hemlock seed cones I forgot that I collected from our trip to Chattanooga!

While doing laundry a couple of weeks ago I almost jumped out of my skin when I pulled a 4 inch long red pepper from the dryer. It had been harvested by my dh and forgotten in his shirt pocket. I thought it was some kind of creature at first. It had not faired well during it’s adventure.

I have done this when hunting…some of the details I will spare you. But also, I have found bullets and shotgun shells in the pockets of my jacket…good thing I never wash my jacket I guess ;)

Ah, do you have one of those hunting jackets with the big pocket in the back of the coat? I can see how you’d forget you had something in there.
Mr Chiot’s just got his license (his 1st ever) and he’s been hunting with my dad (who’s an avid hunter, if there were a word above avid that would be my dad). Let’s hope I never find something in his pockets while getting ready to do laundry (especially since I generally forget to check the pockets till I hear whatever it is in the dryer).

I can’t say as I’ve ever found anything all that interesting in someone’s pocket – just your standard pocket fare.

I have this weird thing with pockets and dollars. I’ll find a dollar bill and stick it in my pocket. And then the madness starts.
An hour or so later:
*hands in pockets*
“What’s this?”
*pulls out dollar*
“Why do I have a dollar in my pocket? Weird.”
*puts back in pocket*
An hour or two later:
*hands in pockets*
“What’s this?”
*pulls out dollar*
“Why do I have a dollar in my pocket? Weird.”
*puts back in pocket*
And the madness does not stop until I do laundry and empty pockets!

I think I’ve done this as well.

Good thing my hubby cleans his own hunting attire. My own pockets hold nothing unusual: small rocks, snotty tissues, or a handful of acorns – whatever my young son gives to me to “hold.”

That’s funny. I found dried apple slices in my apron pocket the other day. And some beans that were picked fresh, but dried in there.

The onion smell is funny to me. One morning this summer I walked into my laundry room and about fell over from the smell: I had harvested our garlic and hung the braid on the inside line the day before. Woosh!

I usually end up with dog treats in my pockets. I try to remove them in the evening when I find them. I leave them in little piles in random places around the house. Freeze dried liver and other delectables. They disappear quickly. The only problem is when they accidentally go in the washer. They get smelly.

OOOO, I can see how that would get smelly. I bet Skippy loves that you always carry treats!

No, all I ever find is a dirty hankerchief.
