Almost Finished
This year we’re a little late getting our firewood in. Of course we’re trying to get ahead so we’re putting up a little more than we need. We still have about a quarter of a winters worth leftover from this past winter and we’re hoping to at least get a half year extra done this spring.
Looks like we’ll be staying warm and frying our eggs over wood heat this coming winter.
Do you have any big yearly chores you’ve been working on?

Greetings!
We are also gathering firewood. So cold here in Buffalo this past winter that we used most of our wood while hibernating for 3 months.
Built two new wood stackers on the side yard. Bu-bye tomatoes! Used to plant there but no more. The deer and rabbits pounded those plants and we just wanted to cry when they got eaten.
Tasty looking eggs. Just needs a little bacon wafting out your front door…

Susy, every year here the Urban Ranch and Terra Nova Gardens has big projects. This year I’ll be working on finishing the fence at Terra Nova Gardens and developing a ground water spring to water the garden there. Mean while back at the Urban Ranch, the east side of the house really needs to be painted and the side yard cleaned up.
I couldn’t help myself. I was at the Ace hardware store yesterday buying parts to fix the backyard swingset when carts of vegetable plants caught my eye. Yeah, I bought some. Four Big Beef tomatoes and four California Wonder green pepper plants. I planted them in my bucket experiment and put the lids on for one night while the storms raged. Next day the lids came off for them to soak up the warm sun. So far the rain gutter growing system is working awesomely well.
Have a great Spring wood gathering day.

Last week we turned the two compost piles and mulched for garden paths, two big spring chores off the list!
