So Helpful
Dexter is so helpful when it comes to the new afghan I’ve been working on. He’s pretty much claimed it as his own. If I have it out while working on it he immediately settles in on it for a nap.
I’m just about finished up with this project, which is good because I can’t wait to start on another. There are a few hats I want to make because it’s still winter and I need another warm hat or two. No doubt Big D will be happy when I’m finished with this blanket because he can sleep on it all the time.
Any fun crafty projects on your to-do list?

I’d started some crochet projects in December but never completed them. I’ve now switched to editing my book which is really the priority! Hoping I can get it wrapped up by March!

I’ve been doing some furniture painting projects lately. I will soon be sanding my new dining room chairs and giving them some pretty paint… if I can just decide on the color. Cats are enormously helpful, aren’t they. ;)

I finally started pouring my kitchen counter tops! I don’t know if that is considered “crafty” or not though. haha!

I am ‘restoring’ an old quilt. I do not sew but I do patch! I used old Tshirts and other material and cut them to fit over the shapes that were disintegrating. Though the monetary value of the piece is lost, I can use it without worry…which is restoring it to it’s purpose. I have always loved it and I look forward to many more years!

That’s very pretty. It must be a pain to weave in all the ends though, and sew the squares together. I always like knitting/crocheting the pieces of something and then despise putting them together.

My cats love sleeping on my knitting. I’ve thought about knitting them little squares to lay out instead of my sweaters!

Susy, I’m not sure that my projects would be considered crafty. I’m building a basement growing system. I wanted to get it up and running before seed starting but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. For the last couple weeks, I’ve been designated driver for people who need rides to the doctor or are recovering from surgery. Every week I hope to get to indoor winter projects but it just doesn’t look like that’s going to happen this year. So now I’m turning my focus to indoor seed starting and maybe use the indoor growing system to get a jump on the tomato and green pepper season. I’m hoping to get a month jump on the season for a test to see if it will work. I might try a couple for a two month jump. That might be a bit too much but it’s all an experiment. It was humorous to make the home depot employee bring down the pallet of frozen organic garden soil bags from the outside garden area off the over head storage rack so I could get three bags. I suspect he’s still laughing at that crazy guy that’s buying garden soil in the middle of winter. I found one last bag of sphagnum peat moss for the five gallon bucket growing mix at Lowe’s so I’m all set to mix up my grow soil. It’s warm enough during the days here (40s and 50s) to actually do the mixing in the compost barrel. I don’t do much composting in the barrel but mainly use it to mix up garden soil with compost and additives.
Have a great winter crafty day …. make sure it’s before the deep woods sauna session. :-)

We are working on making some wooden utensil organizers for our kitchen drawers tomorrow. There is a storm head our way so we went and got supplies yesterday so we’ll have a project to work on during the day. Should be fun!
