Blooming Away

June 26th, 2018

The ‘New Dawn’ and ‘White Dawn’ roses I purchased earlier this spring are growing quickly and blooming like mad. I’m really interested to see how well these do in our cold winters. I’d love it if they would grow up and cover the living room wall.

I’m already impressed by their growth, they’ve doubled in size in a little over a month.

Do you have any roses in your garden? What’s your favorite color of rose?

Susy, I do have one rose bush that was planted a couple year ago. It came from a landscaping project my neighbor did and just plunked it into the ground at Terra Nova Garden’s entrance to the parking area. It is the most beautiful rose bush ever. It produces roses all year long. I thought it had died because of the terribly cold winter we had but now I see it’s blooming just as it did last year. I was so happy to see it alive. I would really like to try to start some plants from that bush with cuttings. I’m not even sure it can be done with roses so research will have to happen.

Have a great rose day in the garden.

I have 2 roses I got from Fedco years ago, a climber and a bush “John Davis”. Can’t remember name of the climber but they are both from the Canadian Explorer series so are winter hardy in my zone 4 area.
Had many others before these but they all winter killed. They were just not hardy for here,.
My favorite rose color is pink.
    Your roses are beautiful!

My grandfather loved yellow roses, so I bought a bush on a whim from Tractor Supply, planted it, but in afraid it’s dead. Blush impeach toned roses are probably my favorite.
